The Garden of St. Francis reflects the Little Franciscans of Mary, both the patrons and the godmothers of this urban park. Inspired by the Canticle of the Creatures, it is a beautiful ode to the values of universal brotherhood, simplicity, respect for nature, of the Beautiful and the Good, of silence, contemplation and tranquility. A chance to become one with yourself! A place of peacefulness in the heart of town!
Designed by Mrs Malaka Ackaoui and Mr Antoine Crépeau, landscape architects from the Montreal firm Williams, Asselin, Ackaoui et associés inc., the Garden was first opened to the public in Autumn 2015. It is a testimonial to the Congregation’s wish to establish its presence, grow its values and sew beauty everywhere.
The Congregation of The Little Franciscans of Mary hopes this space will awaken a deep respect and a wish to preserve Creation, for the simple and the beautiful to open our hearts to treating one another better, and to build relationships based on peace and non-violence that enrich and inspire mankind.
